Start from where you are!

Procrastination should be a four-letter word.

So often we can feel like everything must be planned out in detail before we take a single step.

That we have to think it all through – knowing every task, every possible obstacle, every goal and objective, before we really “begin” something. And until we are by that definition “ready”, we are simply stuck, unable to move forward.

The world sometimes calls this “analysis paralysis”.

But good news! That is not how the kingdom of God works.

So the Lord said to [Moses], “What is that in your hand?”
— Exodus 4:2

Guess what – you’re not God. You can’t know every outcome, think every possibility, or plan for every obstacle. You simply have to take what God has given you, TRUST that He knows what He’s doing, and get on with it!

This applies to all areas of our lives, but particularly in our businesses. Far too often we have a new idea, or a way God has told us to expand, but we keep putting it off.

Don’t misunderstand me, planning is a good thing! God has positioned us as stewards, and it is important to take care of what we have.

But don’t keep preparing just to prepare!
Start from where you are, and God will bless you along the way.

Now, I know this post seems a little off topic from our usual blog style, but it is for a reason.

A client recently contacted us about building a website & online presence for their business. (New service we offer through KM Tech). They have been in business for over 12 years and their parents ran the business for decades before them.

For those past 12 years, they have known they needed to have a website. But it kept being put off! Other tasks always had a higher priority, and they had been coasting on current clients and past reputation to get by.

Well, that momentum has been running out for awhile now, so they contacted us to try and help. (Which we were happy to do of course!)

However, because it has been such a habit, so ingrained that they “wait, plan, and set everything up perfectly”, guess what? Two months after our consultation, they are still planning, analyzing, and thinking about it.

Every week or so I’ve followed up, and every time they say “Absolutely! We still plan on it! But give me another week to figure out what we want on the site”.

Okay, look. I’m not trying to criticize them here.

Or judge them, or condemn in any way. But this are not the first time they have been through this process! They’ve come close to having a website created in the past, but it always fell through, the project abandoned.

Think about that – 12 years ago is when they first thought “Hey, this internet thing is getting really big. Maybe we should take advantage of it!”

12 YEARS! Back then, YouTube was still a new thing! Facebook barely even existed! So much has changed in that time, and so many companies have become established in their fields online.

If they had followed that prompting back then, 12 years go, do you think they would be in their current situation now?

How much could they have accomplished in 12 years with an online presence reaching out to the world?

Wow.

Start from wherever you at NOW guys. Don’t wait for “the perfect time”, ’cause it probably won’t ever happen.

How does that quote go?

The best time to plant a tree was 25 years ago.
The second best time is now.

The best time to start building your online presence & audience was 15 years ago. The second best time is right now.

Even if it’s not much, just START. God honors our commitment, and will bless it.

And if you need some help with the technical stuff along the way? We can help.

Introducing KM Tech, the services arm of Kingdom.Marketing.

Now offering “Just Make It Work!” website development, hosting and more.

Don’t put it off any longer. Decide today to stop delaying, and start right now, wherever you are.

And then contact us for a free quote. =)
