How to Repurpose Existing Video Content: Example 2

A second example of How to Repurpose Existing Video Content

Since there are many ways to write a blog post based on a video, I wanted to show you a second example of how you can repurpose existing video content. (If you missed the first example, you can see it here.)

This is not my video, so I have not embedded an audio file. If possible, I recommend that you also include an audio format for your audience.

This video was recorded at the Summer Family Bible Conference 2018 at Charis Bible College, Woodland Park, Colorado. The speaker is Carrie Pickett,  a much-loved instructor at Charis. Her topic is ‘Find Your Provision in God’s Word.’

The embedded video starts with 30 minutes of worship. At 35:42, Andrew Wommack introduces Carrie Pickett and Carrie begins speaking at 37:37.

If you have time to watch this video, I highly recommend it. Carrie is a phenomenal speaker. She communicates extremely well with visual cues and body language. Her grin is contagious. 🙂

What follows below is one attempt at converting this message into text. The content is entirely based on Carrie’s message.

____________

Find Your Provision in God’s Word

Carrie had been praying about provision for a specific financial need. After finding cash in her Bible, Carrie thanked the Lord. He spoke to her and said, ‘Your provision is always in the Word.”

Can we always expect to find cash in our Bibles? Is that what she is saying? Obviously not.

When you are reading the Word and find your answer –  your hope, your peace, your healing – Your heart just anchors onto that thing, wraps itself around that Word and says, “Amen! That’s for me.” It’s one of the most exciting things you can do.

That’s the provision we find in the Word.

The enemy will fight to keep you from spending time in the Word:

Life, family, finances, health…

Those things distract you from your provision.

The enemy wants you to think that your provision for your finances is in your job;
your doctor is your provision for your health; provision for loneliness is in relationships…
The enemy wants you to look for your provision elsewhere.

God says that your provision is found in His Word.

And it will be a well-spring of life flowing out of you. Everything that you do will feel the power of that provision from the Word of God.

1 Corinthians 2:6-12

“God gave the Word to us for our glory. So we can be everything He has called us to. When we shine, people look at our lives and and say, ‘How did you…?’ and we can point them to Jesus.

God says, ‘Let me so touch this that it becomes a shining testimony of my love and my grace and my power.’

God wants us to see the way He sees and He gives us ears to hear the things that He is saying to us; the promises that He gives us; the life that we need.

Our hearts will latch onto those things and say, “Amen! This is My Promise!”

You have ears to hear. You have eyes to see and you have a heart that can get a hold of the things that God has for you. Because He has given you His Spirit. You can’t get away from teaching about who you are in the Spirit because you’ve been filled with God.”

You can’t just let someone else read the Bible and give you the revelation.

“There’s a personal responsibility and a personal privilege you get to have with a relationship with the Word of God.”

God’s Word is for you!

God wants to show You depths. Not  your pastor. Not your spouse. Not your neighbor. He want to show you His deep secrets.

It’s easy to think we get revelation for other people. But God’s Word is for you. There are deep secrets in His Word for You.

God does not force us into our Bibles. We must choose to spend time in the Word.

Distractions that keep us from the Word are very real.

But what’s more real are the promises that will set you free; the things that are unseen; the things that are eternal.

When we allow distractions to keep us from time in the Word, we are stuck in the mode of just asking God questions. But we aren’t looking in His Word for the answers.

Instead, we try to do things in our own strength.

God’s Word is powerful because He has given us provision
not only to be revealed through our lives,
not just for His glory to shine through us,
but because He Loves Us!

“I love my kids. When I provide for them and bless them it, it blesses my heart.” – God

In the same way that we find joy when we bless our children, God finds joy when He blesses us.

God wants to show His depths to You

God wants to reveal Himself and be the provision in your life.

He wants to show His depths to you so you can tap into something that’s bigger and better than all these distractions that are happening in your life right now.

You are the only one who can choose to be distracted or not.”

You can make time for the Word of God.

Don’t separate the spiritual from the practical.

It’s amazing what God will reveal to you in the shower … if you’re listening.”

This is what intimacy with God looks like: saying “Lord, I want to know your depths in every part of my day.”

1 Corinthians 2:11-12

“You get to understand the things that are freely given to you because you have the Spirit of God within you.”

As things are revealed to you, ask the Lord to help you with your response.

“No one else can say ‘Amen’ for you!

Hide God’s truth in your heart

If you hide the truth about God’s love for you in your heart, you’ll be okay when crisis hits because you know God loves you. You know God is for you and not against you.

When bad things happen, you know it’s not God.

When you want to know how to respond in those situations, ask God. Ask God what promise you can tether yourself to so the enemy can’t beat you up.

If you don’t have a Biblical Worldview, and you don’t have the uncompromising truth of God’s love anchored in your heart, you will lose hope.

Distractions and problems will seem to grow, because you will lose hope.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Psalms 37:4-5 (ESV)

When you delight yourself in Him – you get your provision from His Word – He changes all of your desires!

The way you commit is with joy.

Do not lose hope

You may have have questions and you may have lost hope in certain areas of your life. But God’s provision is already there waiting for you.

“He has a word that’s going to set you free in this situation.”

If you’ve grown weary, find your refreshment in God’s Word.

Re-order your life to be in the Word of God.

Don’t try to balance all of the demands in your life. Instead, put them in order.

If you juggle things, other people will try to throw in extra balls. Don’t let them.

Instead, prioritize.

When time with God comes first, you’ll have the overflow of grace for your marriage, your children. Then come your ministry, your gifts, and your calling.

Being with the Lord is for everyday life!

As life circumstances change, how you spend your time with God will change. You just need to figure out how to prioritize the Word of God in this season. That’s how you ensure that the provision for everything you need in this season is there.

God gives you wisdom for today. The things God teaches you today will prepare you for tomorrow!

What God wants to show you right now, you need today. That’s your provision for today.

Exodus 33:12 – 16

When you commit to have intimacy with God and with the Word of God, God has more for you.

There’s more for you!

Even if you have received revelation from a certain passage in scripture, you may still be given further revelation – when it’s the right time. When you are ready for more.

There may be promises that you’ve already said ‘Amen’ to, that God may reveal to you in a greater way.

Do not be condemned if you haven’t been spending time with the Lord.

It’s an encouragement from the Lord that He’s got provision for you!

You have authority over the distractions in your life.

You have authority over the things that have been stealing your health, and your time, and your energy, and your emotions. Because your have The Spirit of God living inside of you. And you can speak to those things and say ‘I am filled with the Spirit and I will speak promises over this. I will say ‘Amen’ to the things that God is speaking to my life! And then you’re going to see the provision. You’re going to see the rewards. You’re going to see the fruit of that Word. And then everybody else is going to see the glory of God on your life. Amen? That’s what God is doing. That’s what God is calling us to.

Speak hope. Speak life.

People should be able to see the life of God’s promises within you. If people can see that life within you, when you speak the truth of God’s promises, your words will have power.

The presence of God is with you.
He has given you promises.
He has given you peace.
He has given you rest.

If you want ‘on-fire’ kids, you’d better be ‘on-fire’ parents! What do they see in you? If you want godly kids with a biblical worldview, they need to see it in you.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
– Philippians 4:8-9 ESV

Let the provision of who you are in the Spirit come out!
